Train & Muslim Festival Photography Expedition
A unique photo experience in the heart of South Asia
Eid ul Adha is one of the biggest Muslim festivals, during this festival more than 10 million people travel by train, bus and ferry from cities to their origin homes. Due to not sufficient transport at this time, people travel by overcrowded roof of trains, overloaded ferries and buses. Train & Muslim Eid Festival is the best for train photography and thousands of people praying on the ground. On this trip, you will also explore North Bengal; Red Chilies drying in the courtyard, traditional yogurt making, Stone mining, Asia’s largest shipyard, peoples, daily life, and culture with amazing photography opportunities.
Day 01: Arrival Dhaka, Bangladesh
An Image Tours representative will greet you at the airport and then take you to the hotel for check-in. This afternoon, introduce yourself with our Photo guide, Mr. Yousuf Tushar, followed by your first photoshoot at old Dhaka city, Peoples & their costume, and rickshaws. Dhaka is the capital city of Bangladesh, the World’s most population density city, but peoples are the most friendly, so it’s easier for you to capture people’s photos. A special Welcome Dinner & enjoy the slideshow presentation by Yousuf Tushar. interact with Tushar. You will get more information and ideas, which will be helpful in your journey.

Day 02: Asia’s largest shipyard
In the morning, explore the old Dhaka city riverside, you will capture hundreds of people crossing the river by local small boats and many boats anchored like flowers on the river bed, also capturing the markets and activities of the riverside. Next, we will enter the Shipyard, a slum home to Asia’s largest shipyard. A labyrinth-like city in which giant skeletons of old ships provide work for around 15,000 workers, with the task of dismantling ships, repairing and creating new boats with the recovered parts. You can see the bustling activity of one of the largest cargo ship maintenance facilities in the city. Take a short boat ride across the river to the area where the towering ships are propped up along the riverbank. Observe the skilled workers performing various tasks, such as molding new propellers from recycled metal, grinding the ship’s carcass, and replacing damaged sections of the hulls with huge metal plates. You will also learn about the harsh working conditions and the low wages that these workers endure while capturing portraits of their faces and expressions.

Day 03: Dhaka – North Bengal
Drive through North Bengal the most rural beauty of Bangladesh. On the way stop at the riverside unloading area, where you will be amazed to see hundreds of daily workers’ hard work and the skill of the workers who unload tons of coal, cement, and sand every day for a handful of dollars. You will witness the incredible strength and endurance of the workers, who carry heavy loads of coal, cement, and sand on their shoulders, heads, or backs. Next, we will stop villages and photography on curd and yogurt making by the traditional process. You will explore every step of curd-making making from collecting milk to the final production of curds. (B.L.D.)

Day 04: North Bengal – Red Chilies
On early morning visits to the local vegetable floating market on the river, local people bring vegetables by their local boats for sale. We will also explore the biggest vegetable market in North Bengal. Next, we will enter the biggest hub of red pepper/chili in Bangladesh, explore the most spectacular red chili processing on sundry, village people drying red chilies sundry on the courtyard, While sorting the peppers they create peppers lines in the yard. You will enjoy a wonderful feeling while sitting at the end of each line picking the chillies and capturing this scene on your camera. Next, drive through to Dhaka. (B.L.D.)

Day 05: 4-Boat Fishing – Pottery Village
On early morning visits to the local vegetable floating market on the river, local people bring vegetables by their local boats for sale. We will also explore the biggest vegetable market in North Bengal. Next, we will enter the biggest hub of red pepper/chili in Bangladesh, explore the most spectacular red chili processing on sundry, village people drying red chilies sundry on the courtyard. While sorting the peppers, they create pepper lines in the yard. You will enjoy a wonderful feeling while sitting at the end of each line picking the chilies and capturing this scene on your camera. Day 06: Dhaka Street- Aluminum Factories
This morning we will visit old Dhaka city shooting on street photography. After lunch, we will enter the aluminum factory zone a place where aluminum products are manufactured, such as kitchen utensils and other metal products. The processes are highly manual; you will witness workers in very hazardous and grunge environments, allowing some very strong images (B.L.D.)

Day 07: Dhaka-Northeast: Batik Village & Rice Factories
In the morning will explore the largest tie-dying fabric center in all of Bangladesh, a place where workers dye fabrics by hand and spread them on the ground or on racks to dry in the baking sun. This riot of colour changes every day and we will spend some time creating images of the workers of the cloth while exploring lines and composition in photography. Continuing our visual odyssey, we delve into the captivating world of rice factories. Amidst the rhythmic symphony of bustling workers, our cameras artfully frame the choreography of labor, capturing the intricate processes that transform rice from field to table. The lines of rice paddies stretch their lush green hues, a testament to nature’s bounty. (B.L.D.)

Day 07: Cow Boats – Cattle Market
In the morning, we will go to a district nearby Dhaka City to shoot hundreds of loaded cow boats going to cattle markets. Next, we will enter the cattle market whee you will see hundreds of cattle are in lines. During Muslim Eid ul Adha people buy cattle for sacrifice as the tradition of Muslim Eid festival. (B.L.D.)

Day 09: Overcrowded Train, Dhaka
Eid ul Adha is one of the biggest Muslim festivals, during this festival more than 10 million people traveling by train, bus and ferry from cities to their origin home. The train is one of the major transports in Bangladesh. Failed to get a place inside trains peoples are climbing to the rooftop of trains during the festival, mainly targeting to go origin home at the village the inhabitant of capital taking this risk of life to reach their goal. Similar scenery of ferries and buses during the Muslim festival.

Day 10: Overcrowded Trains & Ferry Terminal
2nd-day morning session also explores another train station of the city, overcrowded trains, risky ride rooftop of trains. Afternoon session visit ferry terminal thousands of people boarding to ferries to go origin home at village.

Day 11: Muslim Eid Festival, Dhaka
Early morning explores Muslim Eid ul Adha activities, central mosque and central Eidgah field where thousands of Muslims join the Eid Special pray. The second session explores old Dhaka city, which enjoys Eid festival activities and wholesale leather market. End of the day you have free time for shopping at the market near the hotel. Special Farewell Dinner tonight, spectacular views over the city, and time to review your images by Yousuf Tushar.

Day 12: Chicken Market – Departure
Early Morning Explore the chicken market. After breakfast preparing to check out the hotel. According to your individual Flight departure time, we will drop you at the airport and bid a fond farewell. We hope your unforgettable memories call you again to this land and show up your Bangladesh’s great images.

Our photography expeditions are not only a simple photo trip it’s a photography workshop. Whether you are a beginner, keen amateur or professional photographer we want you to get the best possible pictures on every tour. Each of our participants will get the right infield guidance from understanding all camera settings, creating outstanding compositions, perfect exposer to the different light conditions, developing a personal style to finalizing ideas in image editing software.
We also put emphasis on Image Post-Processing which is extremely important nowadays. We will hold post-processing panels where we will teach you the workflows in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom and some additional plug-ins we use to make your pictures stand well apart from the rest. We will try to allow enough time for you to post-process your pictures while on the tour, and hopefully, you will go home with your prime shots ready for the showcase.
