Train & Muslim Festival Photography Expedition
A unique photo experience in the heart of South Asia
Eid ul Adha is one of the biggest Muslim festivals, during this festival more than 10 million people traveling by train, bus and ferry from cities to their origin home. Due to not sufficient transport at this time, people travel by overcrowded roofs of trains, overloaded ferries and buses.
Train & Muslim Eid Festival is the best for train photography. In this trip, you will also explore the amazing floating guava market in the south, local pineapple market, Asia’s largest shipyard, Fishing at sea beach, peoples, daily life, and culture with amazing photography opportunities.
Day 01: Arrival Dhaka, Bangladesh
A Image Tours representative will greet you at the airport then take you to the hotel for check-in. this afternoon Introduce with our Photo guide, Mr. Yousuf Tushar then followed by your first photoshoot at old Dhaka city, Peoples & their costume, rickshaws. Dhaka is the capital city of Bangladesh, World’s most population density city but peoples are the most friendly so it’s easier for you to capture people’s photos.
A special Welcome Dinner & Enjoy the slideshow presentation by Yousuf Tushar, interact with Tushar you will get more information and idea which will be helpful for your journey.

Day 02: Asia’s largest shipyard
Drive to Old Dhaka riverside, the place looks like 200 years old riverside city. Thousands of people crossing the river by around 3000 local small boats. Asia’s largest shipyard where more than 15000 peoples are working on dismantling, repairing and creating new ships with the recovered parts.

Day 03: Dhaka-Northeast: Batik Village & Rice Factories
Drive through to northeast districts, on the way you will explore the biggest tie-dying Batik village of Bangladesh. Here people making colors on fabrics by traditional process and dry fabrics in the open sun, you will see everywhere is color in the village. The second session explores rice factories, people working rice factories, the lines of rice paddy while the sun-dry process in the courtyard and children playing in the courtyard.

Day 04: Pineapple City
Early morning drive to pineapple city. Discover pineapple harvesting and wholesale market of pineapples. Farmers taking pineapples to market by bicycle, long trail of many pineapples loaded bicycle.

Day 05: Mango City
Early morning drive to Mango city, the biggest open mango market in Bangladesh. Discover mango harvesting and the wholesale market of mangoes. Farmers taking mangoes to market by bicycle, long trail of many mangoes loaded bicycle.

Day 06: Coal Station & Plastic Recycling
Drive through to the riverside port nearby Dhaka where every day more than 3000 daily laborers come here to unloading black coals, bricks and sands carry on their heads from lighter vessels. After that enter the leather processing area where people drying leather in the sun and leatherworkers working in small industries. In plastic recycling areas, men, women, and children are shorting plastic bottles and plastic things. The second session explores the traditional Ramdan Iftar food market, it has a long history, started in the British period. The largest of its kind, it attracts thousands of people from all over the country.

Day 07: Pottery Village
Pottery is a traditional handicraft family-oriented industry in Munsigonj. Munshigonj is one of the most significant pottery production areas in Bangladesh. More than 200 years old traditional pottery and more than 1000 families are engaged in this profession. The second session explores the old Dhaka city street.

Day 08: Cattle Market & Train Track Slums
Morning session we will enter to the Cattle market. Second session visit train track slums where poor people living beside the train line, their daily live activities besides the train line. Next, Shooting in the biggest slum in Dhaka the Korail slum, more than 200,000 ultra-poor people living here, many of them living in small shacks with bamboo frames and corrugated tin roofs. Shooting on slums people living condition, daily life, their small houses, children, narrow street.

Day 09: Overcrowded Train, Dhaka
Eid ul Adha is one of the biggest Muslim festivals, during this festival more than 10 million people traveling by train, bus and ferry from cities to their origin home. The train is one of the major transports in Bangladesh. Failed to get a place inside trains peoples are climbing to the rooftop of trains during the festival, mainly targeting to go origin home at the village the inhabitant of capital taking this risk of life to reach their goal. Similar scenery of ferries and buses during the Muslim festival.

Day 10: Overcrowded Trains & Ferry Terminal
2nd-day morning session also explores another train station of the city, overcrowded trains, risky ride rooftop of trains. Afternoon session visit ferry terminal thousands of people boarding to ferries to go origin home at village.

Day 11: Muslim Eid Festival, Dhaka
Early morning explores Muslim Eid ul Adha activities, central mosque and central Eidgah field where thousands of Muslims join the Eid Special pray. The second session explores old Dhaka city, which enjoys Eid festival activities and wholesale leather market. End of the day you have free time for shopping at the market near the hotel. Special Farewell Dinner tonight, spectacular views over the city, and time to review your images by Yousuf Tushar.

Day 12: Chicken Market – Departure
Early Morning Explore the chicken market. After breakfast preparing to check out the hotel. According to your individual Flight departure time, we will drop you at the airport and bid a fond farewell. We hope your unforgettable memories call you again to this land and show up your Bangladesh’s great images.

Our photography expeditions are not only a simple photo trip it’s a photography workshop. Whether you are a beginner, keen amateur or professional photographer we want you to get the best possible pictures on every tour. Each of our participants will get the right infield guidance from understanding all camera settings, creating outstanding compositions, perfect exposer to the different light conditions, developing a personal style to finalizing ideas in image editing software.
We also put emphasis on Image Post-Processing which is extremely important nowadays. We will hold post-processing panels where we will teach you the workflows in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom and some additional plug-ins we use to make your pictures stand well apart from the rest. We will try to allow enough time for you to post-process your pictures while on the tour, and hopefully, you will go home with your prime shots ready for the showcase.
