It is an excellent opportunity for photographers to explore Bengali New Year and Muslim Eid festival together. These two most significant festivals are the closest dates in 2024.
Eid ul Fitr is one of the most prominent Muslim festivals, during this festival more than 10 million people travel by train, bus, and ferry from cities to their origin homes. Due to insufficient transport at this time, people travel by overcrowded roof of trains, overloaded ferries, and buses.
Discover celebrating the most colorful Bengali New Year and Mongal Shovajatra rally UNESCO world heritage recognized. Hindu ritual festival The Charak worship most traditional and folk festival, the best season for Red Chilies processing, floating watermelon markets, stone mines and more. In this expedition, you will explore Bangladesh’s riches festivals, people, daily life, and culture with amazing photography opportunities.
Day 01: Arrival Dhaka, Bangladesh
A Image Tours representative will greet you at the airport then take you to the hotel for check-in. this afternoon Introduce with our Photo guide, Mr. Yousuf Tushar then followed by your first photoshoot at old Dhaka city, Peoples & their costume, rickshaws. Dhaka is the capital city of Bangladesh, World’s most population density city but peoples are the most friendly so it’s easier for you to capture people’s photos. A special Welcome Dinner & Enjoy the slideshow presentation by Yousuf Tushar, interact with Tushar you will get more information and idea which will be helpful for your journey.

Day 02: Dhaka-Northeast: Batik Village & Rice Factories
Drive through to northeast districts, on the way you will explore the biggest tie-dying Batik village of Bangladesh. Here people making colors on fabrics by traditional process and dry fabrics on the open sun, you will see everywhere is color in the village. The second session explores rice factories, people working rice factories, the lines of rice paddy while the sun-dry process in the courtyard and children playing on the courtyard.

Day 03: Stone Mine at North zone
The stone mine is located at the foot of the beautiful Meghalaya Hills in the northeastern part of Bangladesh. It is known for its lush green hills, rolling tea gardens, and mosaic of stones and rocks. Around 15000 stone laborers (men, women & children) are engaged with stone searching, collecting and crushing in this area. You will explore people searching and collecting stones by local traditional boats, winnowing stones, and crushing stones by hand.

Day 04: Dhaka-Bengal New Year
Celebrating the most colorful and the biggest festival of Bangladesh. Explore the UNESCO world heritage MONGOL Rally, Folk and cultural events. People wear colorful traditional dresses, Sharee, Panjabi, Gamcha.

Day 05: Charak Worship
Explore the most interesting Hindu ritual festival the Charka worship. A group of Hindu devotees performs the rituals of Charak Puja. It is a very enchanting folk festival of the Southern Belt of Bangladesh and West Bengal. It is also known as “Nil Puja”. The believers of the Hindu religion celebrate this on the last day of the Bengali month of the year (Chaitra Songkranti). People believe that the festival will carry prosperity by eliminating the sorrow and sufferings of the previous year. Before hanging on the Charak tree devotees paint their bodies and faces, and perform folk dances and ritual activities.

Day 06: Dhaka – North Bengal
Drive through to North Bengal the most rural beauty of Bangladesh. Explores rural villages and the most beautiful natural Shawla or alga plant in the river and birds-eye view of the green river from the bridge. Villagers daily live beside the river, fishing, taking bath and washing clothes in the river. In the afternoon session, the traditional yogurt-making process in the village.

Day 07: North Bengal – Red Chilies
Early morning visits the local vegetable market, local people bring vegetables to the local market for sale. after that Explore most spectacular red chilies processing on sundry, village people drying red chilies sundry on the courtyard, making beautiful lines and lanes on drying red chilies courtyard. Driving to Dhaka.

Day 08: Shipyard
Drive to Narayangonj riverside, the place looks like 200 years old riverside city. Thousands of people cross the river by around 3000 local small boats. Asia’s largest shipyard where more than 15000 people are working on dismantling, repairing and creating new ships with the recovered parts.

Day 09: Brick Factories, Dhaka
Around 300 Brick-field surrounding area of Dhaka city where brick labors making brick by hand by traditional process. Red bricks with dust carry on their overhead. Many poor people from the northern part of Bangladesh come to the capital Dhaka in search of a better livelihood. Unable to find good work, they finally survive hard work in Brickfields. Even a whole family works in the brick field and lives in small slums around the brick field. The second session explores the local train station and street photography.

Day 10: Old Dhaka-Ramadan Food Festival
The morning session explores Old Dhaka city street and old motor parts markets. Next, we will explore the most traditional 400 years old Ramadan Iftar food festival. If you are a street food lover, years-old traditional foods in the Ramadan food festival will certainly give you a treat to your taste bud! Thousands of food lovers from different corners of the city flock around there every day to buy their favorite dishes.

Day 11: Overcrowded Train Dhaka
Eid ul Adha is one of the biggest Muslim festivals, during this festival more than 10 million people travel by train, bus and ferry from cities to their origin home. The train is one of the major transports in Bangladesh. Failed to get a place inside trains peoples are climbing to the rooftop of trains during the festival, mainly targeting to go origin home at the village the inhabitant of capital taking this risk of life to reach their goal. Similar scenery of ferries and buses during the Muslim festival.

Day 12: Overcrowded Train & Ferries Dhaka
At morning session explores another train station of the city, overcrowded trains, risky ride rooftop of trains. Afternoon session visit ferry terminal. On the occasion of the Eid festival, the same scenery as the train also ferries, and thousands of people are returning home to their villages by ferry. Passengers crowded inside and on the roof of the ferry.

Day 13: Muslim Eid Festival
Early morning explores Muslim Eid ul Adha activities, central mosque and central Eidgah field where thousands of Muslims join the Eid Special pray. The second session explores old Dhaka city, which enjoys Eid festival activities and street photography. End of the day you have free time for shopping at the market near the hotel. Special Farewell Dinner tonight, spectacular views over the city, and time to review your images by Yousuf Tushar.

Day 14: Chicken Market- Departure
Early Morning Explore the chicken market. After breakfast preparing to check out the hotel. According to your individual Flight departure time, we will drop you at the airport and bid a fond farewell. We hope your unforgettable memories call you again to this land and show up your Bangladesh’s great images.

Our photography expeditions are not only a simple photo trip it’s a photography workshop. Each of our participants will get the right infield guidance from understanding all camera settings, creating outstanding compositions, perfect exposer on the different light conditions, developing a personal style to finalizing ideas in image editing software.
We also put emphasis on Image Post-Processing which is extremely important nowadays. We will hold post-processing panels where we will teach you the workflows in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom and some additional plug-ins we use to make your pictures stand well apart from the rest. We will try to allow enough time for you to post-process your pictures while on the tour, and hopefully you will go home with your prime shots ready for the showcase.
